goodbye aunty kelly

Bye Aunty Kelly, we will miss you, Have fun in Canada.
I can't believe I haven't posted for so long, suffering morning sickness and excessive tiredness left me less than motivated for anything much. Fortunately its gone and mornings aren't so painful anymore. Had the first scan and all is well. A couple of weeks and we will have another scan and know the sex, can't wait.

busy, its spring

Last Thursday was my birthday, officially mid thirties, and the exciting news, Im pregnant! a little brother or sister for Mack, we are so excited.
We have been to the rainforest gardens in Mt cotton, the spring fair in cleveland, barefoot bowling with all the inlaws just to name a few things. Kelly, my sister inlaw is leaving us to embark on a year long working holiday in Canada, Im thrilled for her but at the same time we will all miss her.

roma holidays

We went to Roma for a holiday and stayed with my parents. After a day trip to Surat I begged my dad to stop so I could take some photos on the magnificently red dirt road. Mack thoroughly enjoyed playing in the dirt.

spring

Its spring! Ive been gardening, well I use the term loosely as I only have pots, but Ive sown seeds and they have sprouted with all their luminous green beauty and Ive potted flowers, herbs, ferns and all successfully. A rose was the only casualty, but I guess when you buy it on special for only $4. it is a gamble. My computer has been broken and is still a bit dodgy, hence the long break between blogs. We have also been on a holiday to Roma and it was really nice, I sometimes really want to move back there and raise my family but alas husbands job requires us living in or very near a city. I'm still dreaming of our country cottage, it will happen some day.

too much fun

My parents have been staying with us for 1 week and we have had a ball, Mack especially got spoiled by grandma and grandad. They took us to seaworld, a really great day, Mack had his picture taken with elmo and cookie monster (his Favourites) and afterwards watched the sesame st show. we saw the polar bears(my mums favourite), the sharks(my favourite) and had a quick visit with my cousin who has the best job, a diver at seaworld.
Ive been potting some plants and am absolutely loving them, who knows I might become a gardener.

first birthday party

Mat and I made some of the decorations, the happy birthday bunting and colourful paper chain.
some of our wonderful family, it was very nice and cosy, the best kind of party I think.
my first novelty birthday cake, a truck of course, I'm so proud of myself.
Mummy and daddy gave Mack a mack truck naturally, he is a bit little to play with it yet though.

It was my first children's birthday party, and it was really fun, not as stressful as I thought it would be. Just close family, Mack was very spoiled and had a terriffic time, lots of great presents and eating lots of junk food, oh well your only 1 once. I baked a lot of food and am pleased to report that there was hardly any leftovers. My little baby is 1....yikes!

An Easter Christening

After Siennas party I was keen to post Macks christening in Roma on Easter Sunday, It was a very small affair, just us, my parents and 2 brothers Danny and Dane who are both godfathers, Kelly is godmother.
He wore a vintage pale blue and white suit with some embroidery on the front, just gorgeous. The shawl he has on above is the family shawl, I wore it too.
Father John was very ill and Sister Nora performed the baptism and she did a beautiful job, we were thrilled to have her. Girl power!
Mack enjoyed himself immensely, he smiled and blew raspberries all through the ceremony. That evening mum made a yummy dinner and we toasted Mack with sparkling wine. It was a perfect day very intimate and special.

Welcome to the world.

Sienna with mummy and her 2 guardians, Elyssa and Aunty Kelly who made such a beautiful speech I had big fat tears in my eyes.. So lovely
Mack and Nana, Mack even pulled out his best tie for his cousins big day, he ate a lot of marshmallows.
Beautiful Sienna and her gorgeous mummy.
Sienna looked like a little doll, there were lots of yummy sweet treats and fun conversation, what a great day! Despite Amy insisting no gifts just come and see our beautiful little girl and help welcome her, who cant resist the urge to buy a gift for a little girl? I certainly couldn't resist. While I was in Roma (my home town) last week, I found a floral covered S and I couldn't resist it along with a brooch engraved with Sienna.

My adorable little neice is having a welcome to the world party today, Sienna you are so welcome and loved. speaking of parties, Macks 1st birthday party is next Saturday and Mat and I did some party prep shopping yesterday, its so exciting! my first children's birthday party. I not really doing a theme, just trying to make it like birthday parties of my youth, its family only but I thing everyone will still enjoy pass the parcel and pin the tail on the donkey. I'm going to attempt my first novelty birthday cake, a truck, wish me luck.

The very first.

Well here I am, I've been reading a few blogs for a couple of weeks now and after hearing the term "lurker" finally got the courage to start my own, I'm a little nervous as I am not very computer literate and wonder if I am interesting enough to blog. However as a lot of my family live away, this is a great way to keep mum involved in day to day things especially with darling grandson Mack. I have been so inspired by Pixie woods, posy gets cosy, soule mama and lavender hill studio. so good luck to me.
